Nokia is reportedly planning to introduce a “new” smartphone model in 2019, but there’s no word on a price.
The company’s CEO, Rajeev Suri, told Bloomberg that “it’s a long-term plan” for the company, which has sold smartphones for the past four years.
The firm plans to introduce two new smartphones in 2019: a flagship phone that will sell for more than $1,000, and a smaller handset that will start at $400.
“There’s no reason to think we can’t have an affordable smartphone in 2019,” Suri said.
The new phones are rumored to be codenamed “Nokia N9.”
The company is reportedly looking to raise $10 billion, which would make it the biggest smartphone maker in the US, if the rumors are true.
The N9 is expected to be unveiled sometime this year, with pricing and release dates yet to be determined.
The phone has been the company’s most popular phone for years, and the company has a history of producing phones with more features than the average smartphone.
It has also faced some of the toughest competition from Apple, which introduced the iPhone 5 last year.
